LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Police have arrested a Louisville man authorities say fired shots from his home using two weapons.

Matthew Kimball, 34, was arrested Monday at his home in the 4100 block of Hazelwood Avenue, near Alma Avenue and Bluegrass Avenue. The official police report says officers went to the area after receiving a call that multiple shots had been fired. Police say MetroSafe stated that further calls were received in connection with the incident.

Officials say that when officers arrived at the scene and began to investigate, they heard "multiple shots being fired at that time." The officers located the home where the shots were being fired from. The officers went to the location, heard another shot and "observed a muzzle flash of a weapon being fired."

Authorities say officers saw Kimball with a holster on his hip and two weapons that were on the ground next to him.

Police secured the weapons and found one of them to be in a "jammed state" with a live round inside the chamber. Authorities also say the gun's magazine contained a live round.

The officers recovered the holster from Kimball, which held the magazine for the other firearm. Investigators say an officer saw a back fence that had multiple gunshot holes next to bullet casings on the ground.

Officials say one of the guns was reported to have been stolen from Bullitt County.

Police records state that Kimball admitted to police that he fired both weapons. Police say Kimball told authorities that he "was fixing the weapons for a friend." Police also say Kimball admitted to drinking alcohol.

An officer found a small bag of marijuana in Kimball's right front pocket, according to police.

Kimball is charged with two counts of possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, one count of wanton endangerment, one count of possession of marijuana and one count of receiving stolen property.

He is being held at Louisville Metro Corrections.
