LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- University of Louisville basketball player Chinanu Onuaku will undergo a medical procedure.
According to a news release, the U of L forward will undergo the procedure in Chicago today. It's to correct a heart rhythm issue called Wolff-Parkinson-White (WPW) syndrome.
Onuaku is in Chicago to interview with and work out for teams at the NBA Draft Combine. He hasn't yet officially decided whether he'll keep his name in the draft or return to Louisville fort his junior season.
Onuaku has released the following statement:
“After an extensive physical with the NBA doctors over the last few days, they noticed a situation that will require a minor procedure that will keep me off of the court for approximately 7 to 10 days. After the 7 to 10 day window, I will be ready to start my workouts again in pursuit of my NBA dreams.”
