LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Kentucky State Police say they've arrested a man after he was caught sharing images of child pornography on his Twitter accounts.

According to an arrest report, someone reported to police that the images were being uploaded to Twitter accounts.

Those accounts were linked to 26-year-old Joseph T. Anderson, a man who was already a convicted sex offender, police say.

According to the arrest report, police learned through an interview that Anderson had knowingly re-tweeted several images of child pornography, "causing them to be distributed to all his followers."

Anderson was arrested Tuesday afternoon on Bluebell Drive and charged with 18 counts of distribution of matter portraying the sexual performance of a minor.

He is currently being held in Louisville Metro Corrections.

This morning, he faced Judge David Holton, who said Anderson's behavior caused him, "great concern as to the safety of the children in this community." Anderson was ordered to have no contact with minors, and no access to the Internet. His bond was set at $50,000.

Officials say he was already due in court next month after investigators discovered he had a Facebook page, which is a violation of the restrictions placed on convicted sex offenders.
