'Avengers' stars visit 18-year-old San Diego man battling cancer

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The dream of a Marvel superheroes fan in San Diego recently came true.

Ryan Wilcox, age 18, is battling cancer and got a big boost from his favorite "Avengers." A rally at his high school caught the attention of Gwyneth Paltrow, Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr.

So Ryan got a visit from Captain America, Iron Man and Pepper Potts.

"I can't pick, they're all so great," Wilcox said. "I would like to say, 'Thank you for taking the time out to come see me, and that was a highlight.'"

When Robert Downey Jr. heard that Ryan was Team Captain America, he came with a box of Iron Man gear as a bribe, but Ryan says he'll always stay on Team Captain.
