LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Officials with the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office have arrested a Louisville man for allegedly writing a bad check worth several thousand dollars.

Robert Duane Key, 64, was arrested Tuesday. According to the official arrest warrant, Key allegedly wrote a "worthless check" for $65,000 to Jeff Wyler Chevrolet to purchase five vehicles.

Police say Key was allowed to take possession of the vehicles.

Officials say the check was returned to the dealership as "Account Frozen." Authorities say an investigation revealed that Key never had the money in his account to cover the check.

Key is charged with theft by deception. He is being held at Louisville Metro Corrections on a $10,000 cash bond.
