LACETT | Goodwin to leave Louisville City for medical school
There is no official date for Goodwin’s departure for Harvard Medical School but team officials say he will begin school in the fall.
LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) – Louisville City goalkeeper and fan favorite Scott Goodwin announced Thursday he is leaving the team to start med school at Harvard.
There is no official date for Goodwin’s departure but team officials say he will begin school in the fall.
“I’ve been telling people it’s like getting the chance to play in Barcelona,” said Goodwin. “I feel extremely fortunate about that opportunity.”
Goodwin has been a fixture of Louisville City since the team began play last year. He has a 1.14 goals against average this season in seven appearances.
“It’s especially difficult because we are losing such a great guy,” said head coach James O'Connor. “We wish him nothing but the best. I’m sure he’ll go on and be one of the best doctors this country ever has.”
