LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) – The Louisville Cardinals can still make it to the ACC Championship game but the road to Sunday just got a lot harder, thanks to a 5-3 loss Friday to Clemson in the ACC Tournament.

“We got a little frustrated there,” said Louisville head coach Dan McDonnell.  “We've got to embrace and enjoy being in those close games like that.”

The loss snapped Louisville’s 10 game win streak. It also took Louisville's destiny out of their hands.

Louisville’s only hope now is a victory over Virginia Saturday and a Wake Forest win over Clemson. This would force a three way tie in pool B with the Cardinals owning the tie break via their higher seed.

“I told them in the outfield, we're not going to get caught up with scenarios, and all we can control is how well we come out and play tomorrow,” said McDonnell.
