LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The Louisville Metro Police Department has made an arrest after Sunday's homicide in Riverview Park.

Ja'Lyn Wells, 19, is charged with murder, robbery and tampering with physical evidence.

LMPD sent out surveillance video Monday, asking for the public's help in identifying those responsible.

Officers were dispatched Sunday to the Greenwood Boat Docks at Riverview Park around 9 p.m., and upon arrival, located a male subject deceased from a gunshot wound.

The Jefferson County Coroner's Office identified the victim as 19-year-old Ryan Higdon. His official cause of death was multiple gunshot wounds. According to a JCPS spokeswoman, he was a 2015 graduate of Pleasure Ridge Park (P.R.P.) High School.

"Through our investigation, we were able to determine that victim and several unknown subjects got into the victim's vehicle, after a few minutes gunshots were heard and the unknown subjects fled from car and left the scene," Burbrink said during a Monday afternoon press conference. "We were able to locate pictures of people that we believe might have information about this homicide."

Burbrink said Riverview Park was "pretty populated" at the time of the homicide. At this point, he said detectives are unsure of a motive at this point.

"Obviously there is a grieving family out there," Burbrink said. "Unfortunately, this year, there is about 47 grieving families. It's been a rough year. Our hearts go out to all of our victims' families, especially on a day like Memorial Day."
