LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Firefighters rescued a man from a burning building in the Shawnee neighborhood.

Crews say the blaze started around 1 p.m. Tuesday at a house at 39th and River Park Drive.

Rescuers say a man climbed out of a window on the second floor, where firefighters used a ladder to rescue him.

He was taken to the hospital because of smoke inhalation, but is expected to make a full recovery.

Fire crews say it took them 10 minutes to extinguish the flames.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, but officials say foul play isn't expected.
