LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- ReSurfaced is getting ready to pop back up with a unique twist.

It's a way to transform an unused space to create a place where people can come together to celebrate music and culture. "ReSurfaced: The Liberty Build" launches on Thursday at 5 p.m. at East Liberty and South Shelby Streets.

For the first time, there's an international partner: DeMontfort University, of the United Kingdom.

"It really just goes to show that Louisville has blown up and is recognized on an international level, so it's only right we work with someone overseas to make ourselves better as an arts and music community," Jecorey Arthur, program director.

This ReSurfaced event is also part of a larger project. Instead of ending after two weeks, it will be just the start of an 18-month project at the site. A soccer field will open there in the fall, with a style popular in Europe, that has a smaller field and faster pace.
