LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The Louisville Urban League is getting some help when it comes to finding jobs for minority contractors.
Jim Host was introduced Tuesday as the Senior Adviser for Workforce at the Urban League. Host is the former Secretary of Commerce for Kentucky.
He says the goal is to establish a pipeline to connect minority and women contractors with big construction projects.
Host led a similar effort during construction of the KFC Yum! Center.
"It is a model that a lot of people across the country have tried to duplicate, but it is not easy and is going to take a lot of work and leadership and time for it to happen," Host said.
Host will be paid $1 per year.
