LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Ford Motor Co. announced Wednesday it is recalling nearly 1.9 million vehicles to replace faulty air bags.

Ford says the recall is part of the nationwide recall from the Japanese supplier Takata Corp.

Certain Takata air bags can inflate with too much force and spew shrapnel into vehicles.

Ford says the passenger-side front air bags need to be replaced.

The full list of vehicles affected include:

  •  2007-2010 Ford Edge
  • 2006-2011 Ford Fusion

  • 2005-2011 Ford Mustang

  • 2007-2011 Ford Ranger

  • 2007-2010 Lincoln MKX

  • 2006-2011 Lincoln MKZ

  • 2006-2011 Zephyr

  • 2006-2011 Mercury Milan

The company says it will notify its customers and replace the air bags for free.

Ford says they are unaware of any injuries related to the air bags.
