Questions arise over the future of Cahoots bar

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- There are questions about how much longer a once-thriving Highlands bar will be in business.

The sign at Cahoots has been taken down. It follows two years of trouble, including a fight outside the Bardstown Road bar.

Neighbors complained Cahoots brought drugs and chaos into the community. The city also revoked Cahoots liquor license.

At this time, the property owner says he's giving Cahoots another chance to see what will happen at the next hearing -- and the business owner is trying to get her liquor license back.

"I don't want the building to be here vacant," said property owner Jeff Harvey. "I'd rather her to continue on till she gets another hearing in court, and I've had some other people look at it, so it's kind of in limbo right now."

Police raided the business in 2014, but LMPD later disciplined officers for breaking rules during the search.
