LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville's very own Slugger Field has been voted the best Triple-A ballpark in America as part of Ballpark Digest's "Best of the Ballparks 2016" contest, according to a news release.

The contest, which was conducted bracket-style, began with 30 total teams on May 11 and ran for just over three weeks, lasting a total of five rounds. Louisville's Slugger Field defeated the Indianapolis Indians' Victory Field in the final round by a difference of just 316 votes, after 14,356 fans voted during the final round of voting, according to the news release.

"Louisville Lugger Field is one of the many jewels that minor league baseball has in terms of ballparks built since the 1990s, and we are honored to be chosen as one of those," said Senior Vice President Greg Galiete, according to the news release. "We want to especially thank our fans for voting and helping us earn the title of best Triple-A ballpark, but also our hardworking staff that make Louisville Slugger Field look its best all season long."
