LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Honoring Muhammad Ali with legislation.

U.S. Senator Rand Paul told WDRB today he plans to introduce an amendment this week, getting rid of Selective Service.

It would be named after the boxing legend.

You'll remember Ali was called a "draft dodger" for avoiding the Vietnam War.

"We have an all volunteer military. There is Selective Service registration right now, in case they want to have a draft. I don't think there's a reason to have a draft. I agree with Muhammad Ali ... if a war is worth fighting for, people will volunteer," Paul said.

Paul was in the West End stumping for Shenita Rickman, a Republican candidate for State Senate.
