LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Greater Louisville Inc. is calling on employees of Louisville businesses to line the procession route for boxing legend Muhammad Ali on Friday.

In a statement, Kent Oyler, President and CEO of the Louisville chamber of commerce, reminded the public that the eyes of the world are on Louisville.

"The world has lost a true legend and one of its best-known personalities," Oyler said in a written statement. "Muhammad Ali's boxing skills and humanitarian spirit were unmatched. A familiar face in Louisville, he was admired across the globe and this week the eyes of the world are focused on Louisville as fans, admirers, and dignitaries gather to honor and remember Ali. Our thoughts are with his family. His legacy will endure. GLI encourages area businesses to bid The Greatest a respectful farewell by helping line the funeral procession route on Friday morning."

A memorial will take place following a 19-mile procession for Muhammad Ali's hearse through the streets of Louisville.
