13 horses die after barn fire in Bullitt County

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The Mt. Washington Fire Department says 13 Saddlebred horses died in a barn fire Friday morning. Firefighters arrived at the barn around 10 a.m. It was on Woodland Ave. off of Bogard Lane in the Mt. Washington Fire Protection District in Bullitt County.

The Mt. Washington Fire Department says the possible fire cause is electrical, but it's still under investigation.

The barn was destroyed. Several fire departments assisted including Shepherdsville Fire, Fern Creek Fire, Southeast Bullitt Fire and Zoneton Fire.  Bullitt County EMS was also on the scene.
