'Cops on Doughnut Shops' event raises money to benefit Special Olympics Kentucky

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Some local law enforcement went to new heights to help Special Olympics Kentucky.

This was the scene at the Krispy Kreme on Bardstown Road Saturday morning.

Police officers danced and waved to drivers from the top of the building.

It was part of the 'Cops on Doughnut Shops' fundraising event.

100 percent of the money raised goes to Special Olympics athletes.

"We're raising funds so they can compete and train not have to have any funds coming out of their pocket," said Deputy Felipe Hernandez, state director of Law Enforcement Torch Run.

If you couldn't make it out to the event, you can still donate online.
