LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB)-- Glenda Harris remembers 4:30 Saturday morning well.
She heard arguing, it got quiet. She thought tempers had cooled. She was wrong.

"They got in the car. I heard a gunshot, and that was it. It was over," she explained.

Young mother, Jacoya Mangrum was shot and killed. Her body left in the street.
Inside the car, to witness the whole thing, Mangrum's one-year-old boy.

"If you could kill a 20-year-old woman that hasn't even lived a full life yet, while her one year-old child is in the back, you have no emotions, no heart, no God in your life," said neighbor, Betti Williams.

The gunman ran into the night. Police tracked him down Sunday night.
22 year-old Antwoin Williams now sits in Metro Corrections charged with murder.

The reason behind the shooting is under investigation, but neighbors and witnesses say everyone in the neighborhood already knows what happened.

"She had a phone of his, and supposedly she threw it at him," said Harris.

"It's a pointless shooting, you know. It's how you know the days are getting lower and lower, because people are just killing each other for no reason," Betti Williams said.

She and her boyfriend, Shim Barker, are fed up with the violence.

"People keep getting killed all the time down here, and it's just bad," Betti said.

"It's just wrong, period. It's just getting worse and worse. People just don't care," Barker added.

The couple is looking for a way out. Moving anywhere but here, they say, would be better.

"I want all of us to live right and be able to get along," Betti Williams.

Antwoin Williams is due in court on Tuesday.
