LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- After seven hours, LMPD SWAT team and Hostage Negotiation team have left the scene where they believed the suspect accused of shooting an LMPD officer was hiding.

Monday afternoon police had blocked streets in the Russell neighborhood while looking for a suspect.

LMPD acted on a tip that the suspect was thought to be hiding in a home in the 2500 block of Chestnut. Teams arrived at the scene around noon.

LMPD spokesperson Dwight Mitchell said that at about 7:15 Monday evening, the suspect was not found in the home.

Police have been looking for 22-year-old Jacquan Crowley since Saturday night when Officer Kyle Carrol was shot in the chest in the 2300 block of Magazine Street. Carrol was wearing a bullet resistant vest and survived the shooting.

Mitchell said that LMPD will continue to follow leads about Crowley's whereabouts, and asks for anyone with information call the anonymous tip line at 574-LMPD.

We'll bring you more information as soon as it becomes available.
