Local schools raise $25,000 for Norton Cancer Institute

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Two Louisville high schools are putting aside a rivalry for a good cause.

Assumption and Sacred Heart presented a $25,000 check to Norton Cancer Institute this morning. It's from their 9th annual "Pink & White Game" that pits senior girls from the two schools against each other in a flag football game.

Saint X and Trinity High School boys performed for the halftime show.

"Before the game we have a ceremony where all the schools will line up -- and if we know somebody who's affected by breast cancer, we can bring them out," said Taylor Hubbs, who played in the Pink & White Game. "I brought my grandma out because she had breast cancer."

Since these schools began fundraising for Norton Cancer Institute in 2009, they have raised more than $200,000 to help support breast health research and programs.
