POLICE: Mercer County, Ky. man facing 10 counts related to child pornography
The suspect was taken into custody after an undercover investigation by the Internet Crimes Against Children Unit.
BURGIN, Ky. (WDRB) -- Kentucky State Police have arrested a Mercer County man on several charges related to child pornography.
According to a news release, 35-year-old Warren C. Stratton, of Burgin, was arrested on Tuesday, after served a search warrant at his home. Stratton is facing 10 counts of distribution of matter portraying a sex performance by a minor.
He was taken into custody after an undercover investigation by the Internet Crimes Against Children Unit. KSP's Electronic Crime Branch started investigating after Stratton was allegedly discovered "sharing images of child sexual exploitation online." Police say Stratton allegedly "distributed images of sexual acts involving children."
Officials say "equipment" was taken from the home that will undergo a forensic examination.
Each charge is a Class-D felony and is punishable by one to five years in prison. Additional charges are expected, according to police.
Stratton is being held at the Boyle County Detention Center.
