Interstate 64 reopens following fatal crash at Jefferson-Shelby County line
The additional backups caused by drivers driving to avoid the detour around the crash.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- One person is dead after a single vehicle crash on Interstate 64 westbound.
The crash happened about 1:30 a.m. near the Jefferson-Shelby County line.
LMPD spokesperson says the driver was going west when he lost control and struck the guardrail.
The car then went across three lanes and hit the center median wall.
The male driver died at the scene. He was not wearing a seat belt.
Westbound I-64 was closed for several hours after the crash. It reopened just after 4 a.m.
No word on the identity of the person who was killed.
