LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A trooper killed in the line of duty gets the highest honor a Kentucky state trooper can receive.

Gov. Matt Bevin presented the Medal of Valor to the family of 31-year-old Cameron Ponder on Friday at the Kentucky State Police Awards in Lexington.

Ponder was shot and killed in September after a high-speed chase involving a driver with a suspended license.

Other awards were also presented at the ceremony, including Trooper of the Year.
