FAYETTE COUNTY, Ind. (WDRB) -- According to a press release from the Fayette County Sheriff's Department, two inmates have escaped from the county jail.

The release says that while jail staff were locking inmates in their cells for the evening, around 1:30 a.m., they became aware that two inmates were unaccounted for during their routine head count.

Officers checked their cell and discovered a hole in both the interior and exterior walls. The sheriff was immediately notified. K-9 units and officers were sent out in an attempt to locate the suspects but were unsuccessful.

After reviewing camera systems, command staff discovered the inmates, Chadwick R. Heath and Michael D. Roberts, escaping through an approximately 2-by-2 foot hole at 11:30 p.m.

The department is following up on leads in regards to their location.

Heath is currently charged with four counts of dealing in a narcotic drug (Level 4 felony), maintaining a common nuisance (Level 6 felony), and visiting a common nuisance (A-Misdemeanor).

Roberts is currently charged with burglary (B-Felony), and two counts of theft (D-Felony).

In an update to Saturday's press release, the Sheriff's Department posted on their Facebook page that they are now offering a cash reward of $1,000 per inmate for any information that would lead to the inmates. They say that this information must be legitimate and aid in the direct apprehension of the individuals.

Surveillance video was released Sunday of the inmates during the escape. The video from Fayette County shows one inmate jump 18 feet and take off. About 30 seconds later, the second inmate followed.

In an additional update on the Sheriff's Department Facebook page, also posted on Sunday, Deputy Jason Cloyd took a vehicle theft report from an individual who had previously employed Michael Roberts. The complainant said that Roberts had stolen from him in the past. The missing vehicle was a Ford F350 Dual Wheel Utility Truck that was last seen Friday evening.

The department asked that citizens be on the lookout for the vehicle, which had "Jobe Brothers" written on the vehicle in black.

The vehicle was recovered Sunday evening in Dayton Ohio by Dayton police. According to the update provided by Fayette County Sherriff's Department on their Facebook page, the vehicle was found with no damage and the keys left in the vehicle.

Officers in Dayton are searching the area for the inmates.

The department is asking that anyone with information or tips about their whereabouts call the Fayette County Sheriff's Department at 765-825-1110 Ext. 602, Fayette County Dispatch at 825-2111, 911, or via the Fayette County Sheriff's Department - Indiana Facebook page.
