LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Dozens packed inside St. Matthew's Episcopal Church Sunday afternoon for an interfaith prayer service.

Organizers say it was a way to mourn the shooting victims together, while also showing support for the LGBT community.

"You know, we have 99.7 percent of our genes are all the same. There's more that unites us than divides us, and we need to recognize that in times of trial," said Derrick Grant.

"We had an incredible turnout and it's the turnout that I expected. Louisville is a compassionate city," said Rev. Kelly Kirby of St. Matthew's Episcopal Church.

The service consisted of prayer and music.
