POLICE: Louisville man charged with attempted murder
The suspect was arrested early Monday morning.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Police have arrested a Louisville man charged with attempted murder.
Nathaniel Davis, 40, was arrested early Monday morning in the 900 block of Winkler Avenue, according to the official police report. The area is near Taylor Boulevard and Montana Avenue.
Police say an officer saw Davis and a victim engaged in what appeared to be a verbal argument. Authorities say the victim told police that Davis held him at gunpoint.
Authorities say an officer saw Davis allegedly point a handgun at the victim's forehead. Police say Davis then fired the weapon in "close proximity" to the victim's head.
Investigators say the officer then got out of the vehicle and ordered Davis to show his hands. Police say Davis then turned and ran from the officer. Officials also say Davis ignored several commands to stop running.
Police say following the chase, an officer found a handgun in a bush. Authorities say it was determined that the gun was stolen.
Davis is also charged with unlawful imprisonment, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, tampering with physical evidence, receipt of stolen property and fleeing and evading police.
He is being held at Louisville Metro Corrections.
