Shooting victims to come together next month to explore impact of violence in Louisville

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The community is asking people to take a stand against violence.

On Tuesday, July 12, the Hood to Hood movement is hosting a special event.

Called "Bullets Have No Eyes," organizers plan to bring together gunshot survivors and women within the community to explore the impact of violence.

It's something Shenitrea Vaughn, 25, understands firsthand.

She was left partially paralyzed after being shot.

"It sucks at night because I dream, and when you dream, you're walking, but when I wake up ... I'm paralyzed still," Vaughn said. "Still realizing that I'm like this still."

The event takes place at the YMCA at South 9th and West Chestnut Streets.
