New Brightsite opens near Brook and Jacob Streets in downtown Louisville

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A new mini garden is now open at the bottom of a busy highway.

Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer announced the opening of a Brightsite on Tuesday at the corner of Brook and Jacob Streets.

That's right at the bottom of the I-65 Brook Street ramp.

Brightsites are mini botanical gardens found across the city.

"It is just unbelievable to see the kind of transformation that has taken place here in our city due to wonderful private partnerships that we have that takes something that was uninviting and cold and turns it into something that's warm and green and cool," Mayor Fischer said.

Louisville city leaders say there are 62 Brightsites across the city.
