Lightning causes east Louisville house fire
Firefighters say lightning hit the gas meter outside the house.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Lightning sparked a house fire in east Louisville.
It happened Wednesday morning at a home on Willow Forest Drive, near Westport Road and La Grange Road.
Firefighters say lightning hit the gas meter outside the house. The lightning traveled up the gas line and burned flooring and walls.
Officials say they were able to extinguish the flames quickly, but there's extensive smoke damage.
The family living at the home is on vacation.
No one was hurt.
