Not guilty plea entered for Louisville man accused of murder in double-fatal car crash

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Louisville man is charged with murdering two girls standing on the side of Taylorsville Road.

Juan Carlos Ortega-Santos, age 26, appeared in court this morning, charged with murder, driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, assault and wanton endangerment. Police say Tuesday night he was driving in the right lane of Taylorsville Road, when he veered into the bike lane where four children were standing.

Ten-year-old Alena Clay and 16-year-old Tyeisha Lacy were both killed.

Clay's grandmother says she's not angry with the man accused of killing her granddaughter.

"I don't have no animosity," said Patricia Clay. "All I feel is pain, missing my granddaughter."

Another girl was taken to the hospital, but is expected to survive, and a boy in the group was not hurt. A not guilty plea was entered for Ortega-Santos this morning.
