Judge sets $1 million bond for man accused of killing 2 near Churchill Downs

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The man police believe shot and killed two people Tuesday near Churchill Downs will need to post a $1 million bond to get out of jail. 

Eric Anthony was arrested Wednesday night.

He's accused of killing 24-year-old Monte Compton and 29-year-old Donte Jefferson Tuesday night in an apartment on Rodman Street. He's charged with two counts of murder, assault and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.

According to the criminal complaint, Anthony entered a residence on Rodman Street Tuesday night armed with a gun. Once inside, investigators say he fired several shots, killing 24-year-old Monte Compton and 29-year-old Donte Jefferson. 

Two other victims were hospitalized after being struck by gunfire. There's no word on their condition. 

Several witnesses have identified Anthony as the shooter.

The judge noted Anthony is already on parole and set his bond at $1 million.
