LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Celebrating 150 years of worship in Louisville.

The Lampton Baptist Church started in 1866 and was originally named Caldwell Street Baptist Church.

The milestone anniversary was celebrated at Hotel Louisville with services Sunday morning and a reunion choir concert Sunday evening.

Pastor Robert Lyons says the church is blessed to still be here after more than a century.

"Our history is peppered with problems and predicaments that could have stopped the church, but in spite of it all, God has kept the church alive and  we're still thriving," Lyons said.

The church has moved several times throughout the years and is on the move again.

Its new location will be on Clay street once the building is renovated.
