LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) – Police have arrested a man in connection to the triple homicide in the Park DuValle neighborhood.

William Mason, Jr., 31, is charged with three counts of murder after police found three people dead on Saturday.

Shortly after the arrest was announced, the Jefferson County Coroner's Office released the identity of one of the homicide victims. That person was identified as 44-year-old Michael L. Bass, Sr. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The cause of death was determined to be a gunshot wound.

On Monday afternoon, Deputy Coroner Bob Jones released the names of the other two victims, 40-year-old Larry Thomas and 37-year-old John Bailey. Both men were from Baltimore, Maryland, according to Jones.

Initially, police would not confirm how the three victims died, but an LMPD spokesperson said there was "visible trauma." We now know they died from multiple gunshot wounds. Originally, police said investigators found two men and one woman dead. On Sunday morning that was corrected to three men.

"It's a really quiet, nice neighborhood," said neighbor Shanta King of the Park DuValle neighborhood. "We don't see or hear of any crime in this area."

"There's never any signs of violence over here," King said.

The 1600 block of Louis Coleman Jr. Drive where the bodies were found is less than 100 yards away from LMPD’s second division headquarters.

"I've only been down here for 15 years," King said. "So my comfort zone is still going to be within the area."
