LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Police arrested a man early Saturday after they say he left a 6-year-old child alone in a vehicle in the parking lot of a Walmart.

According to the arrest report, an officer was called to the Walmart at 7101 Cedar Springs Boulevard, near Bardstown Road, around 10:30 a.m. on June 26, on a report of a child locked in a hot car. Police say all the windows were rolled up on the vehicle, and the temperature outside was close to 90 degrees.

EMS determined the child was OK, but very hot.

When the suspect, Lucas Tot Pu, showed up, he told police he had only been in the store for a couple of minutes, but police say the child had been alone in the car for 20 to 25 minutes.

Tot Pu is charged with one count of endangering the welfare of a minor. He's being held on a $2,500 bond at Louisville Metro Corrections.
