LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Officials with the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office have arrested a woman accused of assaulting an officer at the Hall of Justice in downtown Louisville.

Charlene Thomas, 50, was arrested Saturday, according to the official police report.

Authorities say Thomas came to the Hall of Justice, stating she had a warrant. Officials say they checked her name and "she came back clean." The police report says Thomas allegedly stated "she wanted to go to jail." Police say an officer told Thomas they could not take her to jail.

Investigators say Thomas assaulted an officer. She allegedly hit an officer on the hand, according to officials. Police say Thomas "also stated that she wanted to kill someone."

The police report says that prior to the alleged assault, Thomas was asked to leave, but refused.

Thomas is charged with assault and menacing.
