Mayor Greg Fischer receives national education award
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville's mayor has been honored with a distinction given to only three mayors in the country.
Greg Fischer won a national Education Pathways award at the U.S. Conference of Mayors.
It's for the Cradle to Career program he started last year. It's made up of four parts, including early childhood education, improving K-12, college and career training, and lifelong learning -- all designed to get students ready for a 21st Century job.
Louisville, Orlando, and Hartford, Connecticut will share $150,000 in grants.
