LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office has made an arrest in connection with the stabbing of a woman in the parking lot of a Golden Corral earlier this month.

It happened on Sunday, June 5, at 3:30 a.m. Police say a fight started inside the JT's Variety Club, near the intersection of Preston Highway and Outer Loop.

That fight carried over into the parking lot of a nearby Golden Corral.

Police say 24-year-old Adreana Hawthorne was fighting with a woman in the parking lot, when Hawthorne used a knife to stab the woman multiple times in the head, neck and body.

That woman was eventually taken to University Hospital in serious condition, where she received surgery for her injuries, according to an arrest warrant.

Police initially said two people -- a woman and a man, both in their 20s -- were stabbed. The man was also taken to the hospital, but by a private vehicle. His condition is not known.

A warrant was issued for Hawthorne's arrest on Thursday, June 16. She was taken into custody by Jefferson County Sheriff's deputies when she showed up in Jefferson District Court on Monday morning. She is charged with first degree assault, in connection with the stabbing of the female victim.
