Former NFL coach Buddy Ryan dies at 82

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The man who coached two defenses that won Super Bowl titles has died.

Buddy Ryan's agent says he died Tuesday morning in Kentucky at the age of 82.

The always outspoken Ryan was a linebackers coach for the 1968 New York Jets and coordinated the groundbreaking defense for the 1985 Chicago Bears.

He was a head coach for the Philadelphia Eagles from 1986-90 and for the Arizona Cardinals in 1994-95, compiling a 55-55-1 overall record.

Ryan's twin sons Rex and Rob have also been successful NFL coaches.
