New Indiana law concerning auto accidents goes into effect Friday

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Indiana drivers involved in wrecks are encouraged to pull over.

Insurance companies usually tell clients not to move their vehicle after an accident, but a new law reverses that idea.

The law says after an accident, as safely as possible, the driver should move the vehicle off of the traveled portion of the road. This would prevent less secondary accidents.

The previous law only applied to interstate highways, while the new law applies to all roadways.

This law takes effect on Friday.
