Victim identified after Wednesday night's murder at Hikes Point apartment complex
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Homicide detectives are investigating after a man was shot and killed Wednesday night in Hikes Point.
Louisville Metro Police say it happened just before 9 p.m. at the Enclave at Breckenridge apartment complex in the 3100 block of Park Church Lane near Taylorsville Road.
The Jefferson County Coroner says Eric Tellis, 18, was pronounced dead the the scene.
Tellis lived at the scene. He died of multiple gunshot wounds.
The Homicide Unit is investigating, but they say they are not looking for any suspects, and police spokesman Dwight Mitchell indicated at least one suspect may be in custody.
Witnesses told WDRB the neighborhood is usually quiet.
"We went to Kentucky Fried Chicken. We came back, and we're like no, nothing happened, nothing ever happens here. Nothing! So we said nah, it was nothing. Then we seen the helicopter and he said no, something happened," said neighbor Robin Dilorenzo.
"He was young because I saw him come through the hallway. I thought he was around 18 to 20. That's what we were told by someone who knows him,” said neighbor, Mike Walsh.
