LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Lexington Police say a man tried to rob a Chuck E. Cheese restaurant during a job interview.

According to Brenna Angel, a spokesperson for the Lexington Police Department, it happened on Wednesday afternoon at the Chuck E. Cheese at 1555 E. New Circle Road, in Lexington, Kentucky.

Police say the store manager told them that a white male entered the restaurant at around 2 p.m. and asked for a job application. He then left with the application, and returned at about 4 p.m. for a job interview.

During the interview, as police say the store manager was explaining the background check process, the suspect, "implied that he had a firearm and stated he was there to rob them."

Police say the manager told the man he didn't have access to the safe -- and was eventually able to convince him to leave. As he left, police say the suspect, "started crying and stated he was sorry for trying to rob them."

Police are looking for the suspect, who may have been using a false name on his application.

Anyone with any information is asked to call Lexington Police at (859) 258-3600.
