LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The college baseball season may be over, but the award season continues. And a U of L Cardinal added another one Friday.
University of Louisville Sophomore Brendan McKay won the John Olerud Two-Way Player of the Year Award for the second straight year. The Darlington, Pennsylvania native is the first repeat winner of the award named after the former Washington State and Major League star.
McKay was 12-4 with a 2.30 Earned Run Average and 128 strikeouts on the mound. At the plate, the left-hander hit .333 with 6 home runs, 41 runs batted in and 43 runs scored.
McKay was also a first-team All-ACC selection and was named to six different All-American teams.
