Crescent Hill celebrates Independence Day with annual festival

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Rain or shine, the Crescent Hill 4th of July Festival is celebrating our nation's independence.

The event has been growing for the last 30 years. About 80 artist's booths are featured there.

The kids can also jump in bouncy houses, get their faces painted, or get a balloon animal made for them.

With food, drink and music all day, organizers say it's a great way to bring people together.

"We were looking for something to do with the baby this holiday weekend and we heard this was good for families," Lauren Ceecy said.

"Enjoying time in the neighborhood with friends and kids, letting them run around and have a good time," Neal Bailen said.

The event is happening again on Monday starting at 10 a.m.

Fireworks are scheduled to start at 10 p.m.

Organizers say if severe weather develops, adjustments will be made.
