New kid-designed water table exhibit to open Saturday at Kentucky Science Center

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A new exhibit at the Kentucky Science Center could get kids wet while helping them learn.

The new, kid-designed water table was unveiled Thursday morning. It's larger than the water table the science center had before.

It's part of $350,000 in new investments in the center's early childhood efforts.

The Louisville Water Foundation donated $50,000 towards the new water table.

"This table is really going to do an amazing thing," said Spencer Bruce, interim President of Louisville Water. "It's going to bring the science of water to the fun aspect of water. This table's going to provide an opportunity -- it's fun, and it's going to be fun. I've seen it. I got to go ahead and play with it myself. It's fun for kids, it's fun for adults."

The water table is part of the Science in Play exhibit - which is celebrating its first birthday.

The water table opens to the public Saturday, July 9.
