Local restaurant to offer free lunch to law enforcement

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A free meal for the boys in blue.

A Louisville business is showing its appreciation for police officers by picking up their tabs.

The owner of Brownie's The Shed Grille and Bar says the restaurant will offer free lunch to all law enforcement on Tuesday, July 12 from 11 a.m. - 4 p.m.

The meals will be offered at the restaurant's Hurstbourne location.

The owner says he wants to do something positive for police officers after what happened in Dallas.

"I'm not naive enough to think that this is going to fix everything, but I do believe that a lot of small steps like this it's gonna start taking us in a better direction, a more positive direction," said Jason Brown, Brownie's owner.

Brownie's will also be making a donation to the Kentucky Center for African American Heritage.
