LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) – A new police substation is now open in Clarksville.

The station is on Harrison Avenue, at the old storm water building.

The city already owned the building and spent $40,000 to turn it into a police substation.

A handful of officers will be working out of the building.

The substation is equipped with surveillance cameras, and citizens can go inside 24/7 if they need help.

Police Chief Mark Palmer says he hopes to be able to use the substation for other reasons, such as a safe child custody swap location.
