LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Police have arrested a suspect accused of stabbing a pregnant woman several times during a fight with her over the weekend.

According to the arrest report, it happened around 9:30 Sunday night near Preston and Jacob streets. According to witness accounts, the suspect, 27-year-old Hannah Murphy, got into a verbal argument with the victim that turned physical. Police say Murphy stabbed the victim three times, in the neck, elbow and back.

The victim told police she was cut on the elbow when she put her arm up to block the knife, and was stabbed once in the back.

Police found Murphy, with a knife, a short time later and arrested her. They say she admitted to having a knife, but not to stabbing the victim.

Murphy is charged with one count of first degree assault. She is being held on a $50,000 full cash bond.

There's no word on the victim's condition.
