Golfer Jordan Spieth withdraws from Olympics

TROON, Scotland (WDRB) -- Golfer Jordan Spieth is withdrawing from the Olympics.

Spieth is not the only contender to drop out. U.S. Open champ Dustin Johnson is also skipping the Olympics, over concerns about the Zika virus. He's the first American golfer to withdraw from the games.

Johnson said he and his fiancee plan to have more kids and it isn't worth putting his family at risk.

Several other players are not attending the games including Jason Day, Rory McIlroy, and Graeme McDowell.

American Rickie Fowler did confirm yesterday that he will play in Rio.
