New Albany White Castle to be demolished to make way for new one

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A White Castle in New Albany is no longer serving up sliders.
The closed sign went up Saturday at the White Castle on Spring and Vincennes Streets in New Albany.
But don't worry, it'll back. It's being torn down to build a new one with modern amenities.
"We try to keep all of our Castles current and up to date as far as technology goes," said White Castle District Supervisor Larry Powers. "It just helps our team better serve our customers, and we want our customers to be able to enjoy things like WiFi, the TVs that are in the front room that you see more and more."
A White Castle has been at the Vincennes Street location in some form since the late 1960s. If everything goes as planned, it should reopen in December.
